I am torn between this radio and the ETON G3. I have a Tecsun PL-230 that has great RF DXing.

@RJCB1966 I ended up getting a 390. I agree with your sound quality assessment. It can play surprisingly loud for how tiny it is. The ETM is great for shortwave. Before I listen I start ETM and get 60 or 70 stations stored that I can scroll through. It can miss a station or two but mostly gets it right. Heard a Canadian Atomic clock frequency for the first time. Really helps you access what is out there on the huge SW range. The 390 is a steal for the price.

AM- (medium wave) and SW- performance is similar. Long wave is not as good as the G5. 5 Bandwidth settings of the PL-390 are more versatile. Therefore I prefer the PL-390 when listening BC-Radio. When it comes to amateur-radio Grundig G5 ist the first choice as the PL-390 has no SSB !!
