  • no no,ho molti bootlegs del 73 ed è sempre in scaletta come chiusura...purtroppo non c'è molto materiale ufficiale,lo stesso live al madison è tagliato e mancano canzoni e parti...grazie per il commento

  • I would disagree completely about Bonham playing badly in nearly any show of the '77 tour. In fact, some of his performances I have heard from that year are some of the best I think he's ever done. Page defenitely, but Bonham absolutely not.

  • yes, the element of funk is there

  • I was in high school in New Orleans but couldn't figure out a way to sneak out of the house to go to this, I still curse the day. LOL

  • Best years for each member>Plant>72(australia and usa tours)

    Page>It's hard,for speed and effectiveness 72 and for improvisation it's 75.(but it's a bit "sloopy")

Bonham>77,the best year for him,the only member at 100 %

    Jones>75 too,no quarter,dazed and trampled under foot ;).

  • "Drugs were an integral part of everything with the band. From the beginning to the end." - Jimmy Page, 1977 interview.

  • Oh my God Jimmy.. You needed to get off of that shit.. 0:48. You were as skinny as the jews at the liberation of the concentration camps.

  • @Maguirearch Yeah, I've heard that snorting in that part of the song. Jimmy Page finally got off drugs completely around '84, '85. Somewhere around there. He had got arrested two times in the early '80's for posession of cocaine. But he was never clean in the 70's. No. In fact, around the 75' year mark, he was dwelving deeply into heroin. The biggest users were him, John Bonham, and Richard Cole. Cole was fired as tour manager for the planned 1980 tour because he was too messed up.

  • His Playing at Knebworth may also have suffered due to the fact he wasn't regularly touring at that time...allthough he did nail some tunes fairly well depending on the day that was in it ...Achilles,,,, Rock'n,Roll and Nobody Fault were high lights

  • From what video evedence I have seen of Page he seemed to be at his healthiest around 1975...as you can see at Earls Court.....He looks quite dazed in ALbert Hall footage......and at the MS Gardens1973 performance he hadn't slept in 2 or 3 days....

Then Seatle and Knebworth he was seriously thin....and his playing in 79 was pretty Sloppy

  • Was he ever clean ? as you can see today he does not look as well as The Bassist or even the singer........he may well have been doing drugs at this stage...put he only got into serious stuff after 1975..."For Your Life" on Presence is about his drug habit...listen to the snorting at the end....

  • Funny.the vid is "Rock and Roll" from The Song.... Man listen to Bonham and Jones. The were the glue! W/out either there could never be or will be again LED ZEPPELIN! Listen to the improv and tightness around the 2 min area

  • 1977 were his drug days...he was somewhat clean during this time lol
