Finally got the Disklavier to play back midi information! The MIDI-IN doesn't want to work, so I had to find a Yamaha TO-HOST cable. That I got from ebay. But though the Yamaha CBX midi drivers install on Windows 7, they didn't actually WORK in Windows 7, so this was a test to see if they worked in Windows XP, or if perhaps the particular DCK-500RW module was just refusing to process remote information at all. A windows XP machine did the trick. Now I need to see if it will work in a virtual machine, because if it does, then that makes it even easier, and if it doesn't, I'll just build a really quiet Windows XP machine as a bridge between standard midi i/o and the Yamaha CBX serial control I have working. All in all this was WAY too complicated, but hopefully incredibly worth it!
@realsilsor In fact, playing back the stuff that's already on the piano, or recorded straight to the piano - that's EASY to pull off. Definitely harder to get the computer to control it!

@realsilsor Actually, there is some cool stuff already on the piano, including some stuff that Oscar Peterson laid down, (Yes, this piano has some history! Oscar Peterson, Alicia Keys - some great hands have played these keys!), and I think that there is a version of some of the Goldberg variations on the piano. I'll have to look through it at some point and document what's on it and who plaid what if I can find that out.

Can we get some Goldberg Variations up in this piece

Before anyone else mentions it, I know I say "Disklavier" incorrectly. It's how I hear it when I see the word.

@realsilsor Oh it's a terrible source file. I'm just happy that after struggling for MONTHS to get ANY midi information to play back on that piano, it FINALLY works. Seriously, it's been an epic struggle.
Some very weird timing issues for a midi file, so I have to see if that's cos I had a delay setting turned off or if that was in the source material.

I found the piano's interpretation of the piece to be unimaginative. Just kidding, good job Kevin!
