  • One of my favorite songs, sung buy my favorite singer...thank you..with Lovingkindness

  • @michaelrowedtheboat, pleased to help and without a doubt Mahalia is the best of all female singers i´ve ever heard. When for example i compare her version of "Silent Night" to others you can forget all the rest !

  • I think you for posting this . . . but the 1963 March on Washington was as much JFK's as it was Richard Nixon's.

In fact, virtually all of official Washington . . . the ones who weren't openly condemning the March at least . . . strove mightily to avoid saying anything that could be construed as an endorsement of it. True, President Kennedy didn't denounce the event . . . though both Kennedys were still half-convinced that King was a Communist . . . but there was no sign of even moral support.

  • Wonderful to see the power of Mahalia, and how she choosed the songs...the other one was : I've been buked and I've been scorned! And she came just before Martin Luther King, at his request! This is not only music, civil rights movment but also history! Never to forget! Thank you for posting this...I would like to see "I've been buked" the same day. From what i read, an helicopter was turning above the people, and she outsang it! Pierre from Belgium

  • I have never heard such a great power in just one voice.Thats is simply amazing how her whole power and strength is overwhelming the crowd. MLK was right by saying that such a voice like hers exists only once in a milenium.

  • It's so sad to know that Dr King was killed shortly after this historic event. I guess the bigot who pulled the trigger saw the power and influence this man had over masses of people and figured he could end destroy dream by destroying him. Thank God the dream lives on!!!!

  • I WANTED TO CRY WHEN I SEEN THIS....NOT BC OF THE FACT OF WHT WE WERE GOING THRU THEN BUT BC HER VOICE IS SOOOO BEAUTIFUL AND MLK WAS A GREAT MAN WHO BROUGHT CHANGE :)

  • This is so beautiful makes me just want to say .. O Mahalia , thanks for the posts cftmri1 !
