This is just a quick look at what I do to remove the excess cane after shaping. The sandpaper I use is of a fine grit.

Both good tips! With the Adam Shaper tips I find the quality very up and down ever since Jean Landa sold the company. Maybe things have changed, always worth another shot.

what shape are you using in this?
I'm using a Mack + tied at 73 on a 47mm staple. Everyone shapes a little differently so your tying length can differ slightly.
