This is one level from the game "PixelJunk Monsters" for PS3. This game is a Playstation Network downloadable title only in the United States, but in Korea (and Japan?) they received a retail release of this game. The retail disc is called " PixelJunk 3 in 1 Pack" and also includes the games "PixelJunk Racers" and "PixelJunk Eden".
Besides that, the game also includes soundtracks for 2 of the games and free ps3 themes based on the games.
The purpose of the game is to defend your little city of odd looking creatures. You do this by building towers in trees to attack the invading monsters. Some monsters that you kill drop coins, which you have to collect if you want to build more towers. You also collect gem thingies that can be used to quickly upgrade a tower or can be used to research and unlock new tower types. If you walk up to a tower and stand there, you will start doing a little dance which will upgrade the tower faster lol. This is a very fun tower defense game and I highly recommend it.
This is the 2nd level of the game. I am playing it on the normal mode, but I am replaying this level. I have unlocked a special sprint ability from beating harder levels, so it makes this level a lot easier than it is on your first run. Normally you move much slower so you cannot pick up coins as fast as I do in the video and consequently can built less towers.
Why did I bother importing a physical copy of these games when I could just download them from PSN? Well, I am against the idea of all my gaming turning into digital downloads. I like having a real physical copy of my game that will last in the long term, so I do not purchase online only games no matter how nice the game may be. Since PixelJunk was cool enough to release there games on a disc in Korea, I do not have to miss out on these awesome games.
Also, the game has a Korean manual and game case, but the game has english text, so there is no problems in playing it. I got it off ebay for about 35 dollars.
This game even has a record feature built in. It lets you record 10 minutes of PixelJunk Monster gameplay and upload it directly to youtube from the game's menu. That is exactly what I did haha. I think that is a very awesome feature.
