A typical example of a Demo3D catalog element. Pallet changers are used wherever product is brought in from multiple suppliers to be temporarily stored in an automated system of some kind. To minimise the risk of malfunction due to pallet failure, or because the internal pallets contain an ID system, the load is removed from the transport pallet and replaced onto an internal pallet. Outgoing loads will naturally go through the reverse cycle.
The creation of a Demo3D catalog element like this is straightforward; it starts with the import of the CAD file of the equipment which is then be purged of bolts, springs, circlips and other unnecessary detail to lighten the graphics demands. Moving elements are then parented to appropriate Demo3D axes and straightforward scripting provides the required operating logic. This is triggered by the pallet blocking a sensor when it gets to the end of the conveyor section. This object can then be re-used wherever needed in a typical pallet handling layout.
