Hull: Modified 2006 2.95metre Blue Fin V-nose Punt
Propulsion: 2009 Mercury 15hp 2stroke Short Leg Outboard (Super Model/Ungoverned 18.2hp)
Modifications: Trim Tags, Motor Raised/bolted, Governor Released. Forward Steering/Center Console Rear Seat Lowered.
Side/Casting Decks, Front Bulkhead, Side rails, Bow Sprit. Baitboard/Foil, 100watt Spotties & a Drink Holder!
Conditions: Choppy
Wind: 25knotts
Top Speed: 48km/h

It was hardly an ideal afternoon on the Nambucca River for smooth boating. We test the boats performance
in rougher conditions with the bimmi up. Using a Navman we clocked the fastest speed at 48km/h when heading down wind.
The bimmi made a lot of difference to the perfomance as it was effected extencively by the 25knott wind gusts.
I did reached a top speed of 51km/h with the roof down on glassy water on an earlier occassion.
The ride in choppy conditions can be very flighty and bone-jarring. You can easily find yourself airborne with the prop
out of the water, screaming at full noise while you are left to the mercy of areodynamic law and the prevailing wind uplift.
This is a situation i have encountered a number of times and has got the adrenaline racing.

In conclusion It is what it is, a small tinny with an oversided motor & foward steering that makes for a lot of fun on the water this summer!
It's a fast & practical 1-man fishing station with a functional front casting deck & large baitboard/workstation.
Easy to launch, retrieve, clean & very ecomonical to run makes for a cheap & hassel free day out fishing.
