  • Did you do the dual monitor just with twinview? I haven't tried activating my second monitor yet. Reading about beryl with twinview turned up lots of posts about messing up beryl.

  • Twinview Yes, configured using nvidia-settings. I've read guides that show you xorg.conf settings, but I just plugged in the new nvidia card, connected both monitors, booted and used nvidia-settings to enable them both.. Easy.

  • Could you post the video card model? I am trying to get compiz-fusion working on a dual head setup at resolutions of 3200x1600.

    Thanks.

  • Nice.

I only have one question: could you please send me a copy of your xorg.conf ?

I have been trying to install Beryl on my two monitors (Xinerama mode), but it didn't work. :-(

  • My problem is that when I try to download the nvidia-settings package it says that it would break something else so it can't install it.

  • Sounds good. I was hesitant to edit xorg since I don't have much experience in Linux yet. I have the nvidia glx drivers but not the nvidia config package. I'll have to look into it. My dual monitors always worked out of the box in XP but I'd like to be able to use both no matter which OS I decide to boot to.
