-From, "Grande duello, Il IL GRANDE DUELLO" (Italy, 1972)
-"THE GRAND DUEL" or "THE BIG SHOWDOWN" (USA)
-"HELL'S FIGHTERS" (UK)
-"SABATA, O JUSTICIERO" (Brazil)
-"DEN STORA DUELLEN" (Denmark)

Poster tagline: "A one man Judge, Jury and Executioner who turns the Wild West into a Blood Bath!"

A latter western starring the great Lee Van Cleef (THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY).

While Ennio Morricone pioneered the classic Italian Western sound, he had many brilliant friends and rival composers to compete with. Here's a great one from Luis Bacalov ("DJANGO").

Film fans will immediately recognize it from its use in "KILL BILL, Vol. 1". His "Summertime Killer" theme was used in "KILL BILL, Vol. 2".

The harp is Franco De Gemini ("The Man With the Harmonica", ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST). The ethereal vocal is of course the angelic soprano, Edda Dell'Orso.

  • Sometimes music makes you feel privileged for having the good fortune to hear every note of it...this is definitely one of those times.

  • I'm pretty sure this one's by Luis Bacalov. There's a clue in the video's title.

  • This piece of music is so intense and primal...you can see the big blue sky, and feel the red hot sun, as sand grates against your pupils...your eyes squint...sweat trickles down your triggerhand...the whooshing wind taunts your ears and your mind with the gravity of your own mortality....you stare down your wouldbe killer....and then...the heavens open, and the angels of the Lord descend....pardon my ramblings...but this piece of music is overwhelming humbling....

  • O-Ren :(

  • @ilikerunninginsanely it´s so freaking badass !!!

  • @ilikerunninginsanely Oh, I didn't knew that. Thanks!

  • Thumbs up for the ones who remember the cartoon segment in Kill Bill 1, this is the music used.

  • Mas o menos e escuchado mejores pero de este artista y son super buenas

  • Brilliant piece. So much texture and feeling. Works perfectly in KILL BILL. 'Spaghetti western' soundtracks of this era take some beating.

  • As much as I love Morricone as a composer but Bacalov is not only a great composer but a century genius of a pianist.
