This henna tutorial is just what works for me. I use it more for the conditioning and stregthening properties. Here are some links:

I buy my henna here- http://www.mehndiskinart.com/hair_henna_dye.htm
I use white rain tropical coconut conditioner as my cheap conditioner. If you have Dollar Tree stores you can find it there. Any cheap, moisturizing conditioner will do. I have bottles on hand for this because I use handfulls of conditioner.
You can find plastic clips at Sally Beauty- http://www.sallybeauty.com/Duckbill-Clips/SBS-702120,default,pd.html
You can find Ho6 oil in the ethnic section of your local drug store or at Sally's. http://www.sallybeauty.com/Hot-Six-Oil/SBS-167704,default,pd.html
You can also use oils like, coconut, jojoba, sweet almond, grapeseed or vitamin E.

Henna is a very strong protein, if your hair reacts with dryness follow up with an over night deep condition and condition your hair well every day for a couple of days.
Your hair will get tangly, so be careful.

If you have any questions or comments leave them.

Coming up soon a blue and silver fantasy look!!

Stay tuned.

  • does it still add color with the oil and conditioner in it?

  • @hipretty I haven't actually seen much of a difference to be honest. I will say that after having done this so many times my hair already has a lot of good color laid down so I can't really tell the difference.

  • hi! your the first video i've seen that looks like you are henna-ing on relaxed hair. i also have relaxed/color- treated hair and im considering using henna for my hair. I would like to condition it using cassia. do you know of any henna products that are just for gloss/conditioning?

  • @jasmineadeshina My hair was relaxed then it's natural now. If you want to use something for gloss and conditioning use plain cassia obvata. It leaves no color but a really nice sheen on the hair.

  • I just used henna on my hair ... wow, looks beautiful and is so soft. I conditioned it with an egg, which i left on for about 15 minutes afterwards. p.s. I avoid shampoos and face/body wash that contains SODIUM LAUREL SULFATE - it is used to create lots of suds, but it's also carcinogenic. You can find good products that do not contain it at health food stores ... but look at the ingredients, 'cause they have some of those on the shelf too.

  • @MonikaLeeDidi Didn't the American Cancer Society say that SLS is not a known carcinogen? SLS and associated chemicals can be skin irritants in some people like any other substance. I would take that adage with a grain of salt honestly.

  • @weebeasty Thanks a bunch. I was looking for more of a wine color myself but alot of women have told me they've done it gradually for a more visible color. I'll have to try that out when I get the guts, lol :)
