U.S. Representative Vernon Ehlers of Grand Rapids Michigan explains peak oil and energy. (Part 1 of 2)
Ehlers, a Ph.D., former nuclear physicist, and college professor, is a member of the U.S. Congressional Peak Oil Caucus which also includes Dr. Roscoe Bartlett.
Dr. Ehlers explains peak oil including a brief summary of peak oil in the USA, how energy is difficult to comprehend but how amazing and essential it is, if energy were purple, the amount of energy required to go to the grocery store, where energy comes from in the first place, and why energy is the most valuable substance in the universe.

Amen, I love how this talk was started. So true. I'm an engineer in the power/energy industry, and it's frustrating speaking to those about a subject that is intrinsically tied to science, when people have no knowledge of science going in.

Energy does not need to be recycleable, it never ends it only changes into different forms. We can not finnish our supply of energy, if energy was for free in our society and it was environmentaly friendly no body would care to seal the doors and windows better, or to drive economicaly. The truth is that energy is for free, nature never intended for it to cost anything. We just have to find a different way to harness it, like nature does, it doesn´t cost a tree to grow, or the sun to shine.
