I've made custom bolts to hold the body to the frame on our 1932 Ford.

  • Quick note on safety, NEVER WEAR LONG SLEEVES OR JEWELRY WHILE WORKING ON THE LATHE!!!! Any long or loose clothing can catch and suck you into the spinning chuck, even a minor incident can result in severe mutilation. I have personally seen a guy lose everything below the left elbow from such an accident, always be very aware of the risks!

  • Thanks for the tip. I'm just wearing a long sleeve T, and another good safety tip is to make a habit of never reaching over the chuck. I also always have my foot on the emergency brake... while this won't prevent a shirt from getting caught in the chuck, it could decrease the overall injury if something like that were to happen.
