Paint the interior of the big bowl flat black with a high temp paint, or smudge it black with charcoal. Black absorbs more heat and will greatly help the cooking process. I hope this helps.

I am so glad to see that there are people in Vietnam who are using this alternative cooking energy source. The country has a lot of sun and would be a good place to harness energy source from the sun.

Is amazing this simple "technology" and how efective it is, in a sunny territory (Have to be specific for some people). i found a book from the 70's showing this invention in use and is unbelievable how hidden has been, is all about energy sources now, but if is free... surely is not gonna work...don't bother

Solar Serve provides teaching and training through workshops, home visits and group meetings to benefit poor families and support local handicapped workers in building and using solar cookers. This project is non-profitable and is operating since 2000.
