i guess this game is cool, though it could be awesome. for example :

it would be cool to choose your own people to lead,

it would be cool to be able to just mess around in a sandbox mode,

it would be cool to fight other tribes with your allmighty powers,

it would be cool to have a multiplayer mode.

Indeed, for those who didn't play it go back and look at Black and White, one of the first great games of this genre and surely a stepping stone for this game. And yeah some of these complaints are akin to playing a shooter game and complaining how you wish the game didn't have so much shooting. XD

Honestly as an indie dev this game is incredibly inspirational; none of the elements of the game are original but they've been put together in such a brilliant and beautiful way.

I think most of peoples complaints are misdirected by judging it by other games from other genres. This, kiddies, is a god game. You protect your people by harnessing your incredible power. It doesn't have the pacing of a modern FPS or slash em up and its single player because you are special, you are god. If I play Gears of War I don't complain about everything being too violent and exploding all the time.

Anyway im just gonna go see what the new EDF is like, I hope it has great story!

1: Why? They would have to have a pretty similar culture for it to fit into the story.

2: You can, the last level is a sandbox where you are given infinite power.

3: That might actually work, you would have to direct the elements towards your foes while sheltering yourself. I guess they wanted it to feel like a lonely world but if they made another that would be quite a laugh.

4: Why must everything have multiplayer? There have been good simple player games too you know?

Everyone that I knew that got the game said it was awesome, but they played it for like the first week and I've never seen them play it again. Glad I didn't get it, I guess.

I played it and saw no appeal.. I made a house, created some weapons and got bored.
