  • @2reeler. Hello Biff. Thanks for your comment in Google Danish ;-) But I understand that you like the record so I am glad I made the upload. Sissles British HMV's are all great.

  • That's really sissling hot. Who's the violin? Sissle himself?

  • @ErnieHollerhagen. I think the fiddlers name is Juice Wilson.

  • @jackpaynefan. Yes, that's right, Sunny Skies on Parlop. is quite ok, but as you say, Kitty must be the hottest of all his UK recordings. Hope you are lycky with the auction. I must say you have a stunning collection!

  • @danishjazz Thanks for the tip -will keep an eye on it. This record has prompted me to hear some of his other recordings. Like you I've a selection of Parlophones and one Columbia (CB193). "Sunny Skies" on Parlophone is very good. None are quite as hot as this record.

  • @jackpaynefan. Yes, in my opinion this is the best of the HMVs. I also have the other two HMVs, one Columbia and a bunch of the Parlophones. If you are fast, Kansas City Kitty is on ebay.uk ending tomorrow or so.

  • I've got the other two HMV recordings but not heard this before. Such a powerful and delightful performance. Still in the U.K, Sissle also recorded 4 titles ( 2 records) for Columbia in 1930.

  • @Emidicta . Ja den må på søgelisten. Husk også de andre på HMV. De er også fantastiske. Bagsiden er, "I'm Crooning A Tune About June".

  • @muscleco Glad you like it to! The fiddle solo is awsom - oh boy! Sissle made a lot of recordings in GB on Parlophone but I think the HMVs are the best. The other HMV titles Camp Meeting Day and Miranda are also great, but Kitty is my favorit, but also the rarest of his HMV records.
