This song was sung by Rex Smith and it came from a made for TV movie from the 70's called "Sooner or Later". A 13 year old girl, who says that she is 16, started taking guitar lessons from 17 year old Michael ( Rex ). They fall in love without him knowing she is 13. I did see this movie listed in you tube.

To Derek...you were my all time favorite of the BCR's. I still listen to you all even at 47. One of these days I will make it to Scotland because I still would love to meet you after all the years that have passed. Love to all of you!

Derek was and is my favorite...it actually took me until my adulthood to realize that the guy I dated in high school resembled Derek! I must admit, he is the sexiest .... then and now! To Derek - if you have seen this....one day my hope is to meet you - the 'real' and 'human' individual - who has an awesome gift performing and now tending to others in another capacity! By the way, if you still play, I'd love a lesson! My prayer is that you are well!

@brendaLea100 I chose this song for a reason. Three years ago I started researching info on the stories I'd heard about Derek. I hadn't seen a picture of him since probably 1977 or so. When his picture came up in search results, I actually gasped, lol. He was my first love and I guess that never completely went away. He 'took my breath away.'
