Simin Tander, a talented young singer from the Netherlands, came to Bohemia Jazz Fest this year with her unique sound, melting impulsive free improvisations with delicate-singer-songwriter elements and a hint of oriental mysticism. Tander's talent has been singled out by jazz-icon Sheila Jordan as a voice that must be heard. Rinus van der Heijden, Chief Editor of Jazzenzo wrote of Tander saying, "Simin Tander is not just any singer. Her performances are more like artworks in music... With this she distinguishes herself from every other singer that performs in the Netherlands, because her guts and initiative, combined with her versatility and her close to perfect control of her voice let her stick out way above all the others." The Simin Tander Quartet has performed at the Bohemia Jazz Fest in Prague on July 14th, Domažlice on the 15th, and Tábor on the 17th 2010.
