HD 1080p: On an overcast Saturday, Eastern Railfan Productions joined forces with GulfWindProductions to railfan the town of Pennsauken, NJ. Our main purpose was to catch NS 39G, which we did, however we were unexpectedly met by CSX C759 heading in the opposite direction to Pavonia Yard. Afterwards, 39G crawled up around the bend, stopping at Cove Road for a crew change. What was bizarre was that, from what we could see, the entire crew left the train and left 39G completely unmanned for a total of 45 minutes before three new crewmembers arrived. After 39G left, we headed over to the Delair Bridge to catch a couple NJT trains going over the Delaware River.

The total list of trains we caught this day:
CSX C759-11
NS 39G
NJT 4674
NJT 4677

Enjoy!

  • Hey man great video! What line is this? I need to railfan it, how many freights does it see a day?

  • @CSXACe Thanks! I am unsure as to what the name of the line is, but it connects to the Pavonia Yard in Camden, which is pretty much the hub of the CSAO (Conrail Shared Assets Operations). I'd say it gets a few freights a day, although you have to be there at the correct time. Usually around the morning (9am to 11am, maybe to noon) is when CSX Q418, C759 (sometimes), and NS 39G make their run on the line.

  • Nice stuff man.

  • @CSX6000 Thanks!

  • Why did you want to catch 39G, nothing but s*** for power(At least to me)

Or was it for the CR Ballast Cars?

  • @kittycraft Sometimes 39G has been known to have CR power on it, but either way I just wanted to catch it since I didn't see it the first time I went.

  • Awesome video, man! Real awesome sampler pack of the area. Cool to see the crew approaching 39G, too.

  • @GenesisSanctuary Thanks!

  • @srr7312 Oh, about every time I see it 95% of the time it is Trash 9's & GEVOSPAMS
