Over the years Kimco has developed & produced many specialized machines as well as many production machines mainly for agricultural use but also as varied as a tortilla press, a power feed stand for feeding sheets of fiber into filter fiber processing equipment, and building a machine to make air conditioning flex duct. Kimco designed and built the first self-propelled machine specifically for harvesting grapevine prunings to be used as bio-mass fuel for wood burning power plants. Kimco also operated this machine under contract to a local power plant for several years. The machine along with the handling system designed by Kimco is currently being used in New Zealand to harvest prunings. In 1981 Kimco produced its first In-Row-Cultivator to mechanically control weeds in rows of grapes and trees. In 1993 Kimco turned its primary focus to perfecting mechanical in row weed control for grapes. This includes both in row tillers and in row mowers. Kimco also markets worldwide the Blackwood Lower Drum Cleaner for Cotton Pickers. Jerry Welker, President is a graduate of Ohio University and has been involved with farming all his life. Since 1968, Jerry has also been involved in the design and manufacture of agricultural machinery.
