Henry Cyril Paget, the fifth Marquis of Anglesey, bankrupted himself despite an annual income of £8m in today's money. He did so by frittering it on beautiful fripperies and useless extravagances - he even modified his car so the exhaust sprayed perfume - and was known as the 'Dancing Marquis'.

This is the detail that performance artist Marc Rees focuses on in this arresting and at times thrillingly sensual combination of dance, film and sound, in his new production, 'Gloria Days' for which the this film was produced for.

  • No mate , there are lots of people called Chris Morris in Wales,

  • At 33 seconds in that is a place I would love to visit. I would give anything to spend a few minutes in a place like that.

    Brilliant video.

  • Well I think you should visit, There are many great woodlands in England , The forest of Dean is a good place to start, this video is filmed in south wales near Newport but for the really amazing super natural woodlands I suggest you visit Mid Wales thats where the real magic is, you will not be disappointed it great in all seasons.

Good Luck , It's sunny today so go to the woods now!

  • this reminds me of this crazy boyfreind i had...everything had to be so melodramatic and wack because he was so INTERESTING...he annoyed the hell out of everyone...i can just see him now, spinning around in the woods, wearing some weird ass, smelly, old, coat, his mom's avon jewelery, pretending he's a count or something. what a dink.

  • hahaha

  • that is magnificent. I really love your way of filming nature and the details of marquis face...

    Powerful. again! :)

  • Absolutely amazing.

Our college went to a talk of Marc Rees' today, such an interesting character he's taken on, the Dancing Marquis.

I was told this video was done with a low budget too, yet you've managed to make it so well that it looks asthough it costed thousands.

Breathaking video. It all works to well together, the music, the imigary. Gorgeous.

  • Awesome film, man! For the last couple of weeks I've been trying to find you. Got your name wrong in the search... so, I finally tried "Marquie Tom" and here I am. Anyways, glad to have found you. You're by far my favorite director on here. Love your work. :)
