  • Richard I contacted you earlyer today, my banjo head now has a soft spot and I cant get the head to tighten, have I managed to blow my head?

  • @orckiller91 You can measure when you take it off. Stewart McDonald has a crown guide on their sight that explains it all. That's Washburn is a nice banjo..

  • @charlieford3 Yea, I used to do time laps before I figured out ow to speed up video. Don't do so much of it now days..

  • @rpeek It's "time lapse" photography. One picture is taken every second (instead of 25) OR .... it's done afterwards with software, like you did Richard. I was a photographer for over 25 years !! My movie camera can't do it, but a lot of "still" cameras have that function nowadays. Check all the "modes" of your camera and look for "time lapse" !!

  • @charlieford3 Then you've got a fine classic banjo. Made in Boston Mass. That would be probably my favorite banjo..

  • @rpeek Hey Richard, My name's Charlie and I've started learning clawhammer from a lady near Wolverhampton, UK. I have downloaded quite a few of your videos. It was great to see you talk about AC Fairbanks because I have been lucky enough to get one on Ebay, here in the UK. Built in 1908 it has had a partial re~build to fix up the neck and head. I don't pick her up until Thursday but I'm real excited about it the more I find out about banjo's. I do own a Fender with resonator, regards, Charlie

  • @rpeek Ok, thank you, just wanna get her up and playin

  • @rpeek Ok thank you, I think its an 11" its a washburn B-9 and all I can find says its an 11 but I dont know what crown.

  • @orckiller91 Yea, more than likely.. It might have already been blown, but it didn't really show up much till you tightened it. Is it a plastic head or skin. What size is it? 11" is quite common, not hard to replace and not too expensive. Check out Steward McDonald, or Elderly Instruments, online, Either will have heads for sale in a variety of sizes, and materials..

  • its a little to late to finnish a project have a good day *fixes banjo
