The Armed Services Committee is currently receiving testimony on H.R. 3087, to require the President, in coordination with the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other senior military leaders, to develop and transmit to Congress a comprehensive strategy for the redeployment of United States Armed Forces in Iraq, and H.R. 3159, the "Ensuring Military Readiness Through Stability and Predictability Deployment Policy Act of 2007." Rep. Nancy Boyda (KS-02) discusses the strain on the National Guard.

  • awesome job, nancy! i'm proud you're my congresswoman

  • This woman is a total embarrassment to the state of Kansas.

  • Nancy Boyda is nuts... She has no business in this seat. I look forward to Jim Ryun or Lynn Jenkins for that matter taking this seat back and bring honor back to Kansas.

  • Like I said, she's new at this, so give her a break. Who would you like to see take her place?

From what I've seen, she's working hard to find out what her constituents need and to find solutions to their problems. She's much more involved in actually working for the people of Kansas than Ryun ever was. All he cares about is voting with his party and foisting Fundamentalist Christian values off on the rest of us.

  • That should be, "but not in such a childish manner simply because they are hearing something they do not like or agree with"

  • Yes, committee members often leave meanings but not in such a childish meeting simply because they hearing something they do not like or agree with. The entire point of hosting this video was to explain that behavior, not something that typically needs to be done. I never said this was my only reason to not vote for her, but it is one more reason I know that not voting for her is the right thing to do.

  • Do you mean that you voted in 2006, but not for her? (Seems likely). Give her a break - she's a freshman, she took a break to compose herself, instead of shooting from the hip, as you would like it.

Besides, committee members often leave hearings for various reasons. Somehow, I doubt that you pick on Republicans who so.

Basing your vote on such an insignificant "error" is frivolous at best - an extremely thoughtless way to help decide the fate of this country.

  • Yes, and I didn't vote for her!

  • Did you vote for her in 2006? I somehow doubt it.

  • How can you be sure of that? Were you there? More likely, it's once again the right-wing's belief that it can do no wrong, and anyone who says otherwise is a scumbag, a liar, and a traitor.

I assume you voted that ass-kisser, Ryun, and for the delusional moron in the White House that lied us into Iraq. That's a lot of innocent blood on your hands.
