I have sprint will my phone work? I already have all data plan but have not gone on wifi with it, just 3G . Will wifi make it faster because that would be a big help

i have a problem on my Storm i press wifi and i get conecction of my router but when i click opera it says Error cant conecct in and says i dont have internet wat i doo
