Anyone with a degree in science or engineering (or a degree in anything else and at least two years of coursework in science or engineering) can take the Patent Bar Exam to become a patent agent or patent attorney. You don't have to be a lawyer or in law school. In this video, John White, the nation's leading expert on the Patent Bar Exam, runs you through the academic requirements to sit for the Exam.

John is the academic director and principal lecturer for PLI's Patent Bar Review. John has been preparing people to take the Exam for over 20 years, and John and PLI have prepared over half of the registered patent agents and attorneys currently practicing to pass the Exam.
