I came across this while studying Mambo for my History of American Pop Music class. This whole documentary is full of YES! All of the books that I've been reading on hip hop touch on some of the stuff in this documentary, but there's nothing like seeing the similarities and the way things were shaped. And to have people that are in the culture is priceless!
