@PotemkinDogs Good to know; I don't speak French. Actually, it's quite difficult getting English speaker to say Khmer properly.

@KomPrenReanKido26 it's actually ភាសាខ្មែរ (sorry for the small size), how you transliterate to English is a matter of personal choice. i think khmai is actually closer to how it's really said... unless you're writing in French which is the reason the spelling "khmer" ever came to be

The most important thing is don't forget to smile and relax while you are performing this dance. I see on here some of the guys are to stiff and look like robots. I used to perform coconut dance back in high school. We didn't have any videos or instructors that knew this dance that well. We were fortunate to pull it off. Back then, the late 80s, there were not to many exposure of our culture. Everything we did was what our instructor had remembered. Oak Park, Stockton,Ca. was the place.
Khmai Culture is soo awesome and beautiful.

I was very blessed to be raised in a diverse area, and one which had a great deal of Khmer culture infused in it (I personally am Irish). I remember I saw this dance once at a folk festival, and I was totally captivated. This is incredibly beautiful! Ever since I saw it on here I've been watching it over and over! Great job, and please don't ever let this beautiful dance and music fade away!
