Frank Gambale's "Acoustic Improvisation"s DVD follows the success of his first acoustic trio recording, "Natural High". This video features his trio, Natural Hight Live, with Otmaro Ruiz on piano, Alain Caron on bass, and Frank on acoustic guitar. After blowing through seven jaw-dropping performances with his world class band, Frank sits down for a candid one-on-one session about jazz improvisation. Using the changes to "All The Things You Are" as a foundation, Frank teaches a series of ideas for improvising over classic ii-V progressions using 3rds and 7ths, chord extensions, Phrygian, super Locrian. and diminished ideas. Frank incorporates rhythmic and melodic motifs and much, much more.

@anticholotonto Frank not only has everything you say he doesn't. he literally reinvented the guitar as we know it and how it is played. A master on the extremely high level of a guy like frank Gambale can do what ever the hell he wants despite the musically impotant ramblings of an obvoous guitar novice, or just plain ill informed and unable grasp such higher level skills that come from 40 years of practice to to this level. You are just out of order man.

@jayfirm20 You took the words right out of my mouth brother. I saw a comment from a guy that was just clueless man. He said frank was basically just show casing his speed picking technique and frett work and who's music had no musical soul, can you beileve such impotence? Obviously this guy nows nothing of Frank Gambale but what he wants to.

Any individual who dislikes this is musically impotent. This song alone is marvilous. I can play it on the guitar but never on this speed. That's very hard and it's all the enchantment therewith.
