The reason apple failed was because Steve left. Without him all the visions and passion to make incredibly mind blowing products was Gone

@pSmall360 as you know, when he left apple they stagnated and fell behind for ten years and when he returned they go back ahead of the game again. You might be right that they eventually became even better because of his other experience and what he learned etc but I doubt they would have stagnated in the way they did if he had never left. He was always going to do good things wherever he was.

@InnocenceExperience People have been saying that, even those at apple who were responsible for it. However I disagree. Him leaving was the best thing that happened to apple. When he left it made him grow up and he learned things at Pixar and with his dealings with NeXt that by the time he got back to Apple he knew where to go. Had he gotten his way and stayed with apple, he would have brought it down also. He just needed a cold hard wake up call and that's what he got. RIP= REST IN POWER Steven
