@blaach well, actually the main problem was because the roman empire was far to big to be controlled... anyway, as germany prooved several times, nazis could have simply "reigned" over france, as they did in eastern europe.
they simply crushed everything they found. moreover, ending the maginot line just on the belgian frontier, was not a good option
