Roy was a very shy and humble man. I met with him several times and he was always just a regular guy. In 1986 we were together at a blues festival in mansfield, MA and Ibanez had made him a guitar for endorsement and he wanted nothing to do with it. He told me to try it out and it seemed nothing like a good old tele. I played one of his songs, "My baby says she's gonna leave me" and he showed me a better way of playing the riff. He was taken back that I remembered the song. A true class act.

@VicDark Boy I wish I knew too? Excellent rift... I was in a different state of mind back when Roy played. Wish I was more with it to have recognized his talent. Today now an older man I know. One of my fav songs is with he and Kanika Cress doing the singing "These arms of mine" by Otis Redding.

Too young to meet him although I knew his daughter well. Notes don't explain his music and words can't describe what I see and hear. Truly amazing!!

At 8:30 it stops being music...and becomes Art.
I met Roy in DC in 1987. I shook his hand. We talked.
On this night I was TOTALLY SEDUCED by The Telecaster.
On this night I became a man.
After this night...there was no looking back..........
