Coming Home: Military Families Cope With Change features Queen Latifah, John Mayer and Elmo. This half-hour special tells stories of service members who return home with injuries, visible and invisible, and explores the heroic struggles their families face in discovering a new way of finding a new normal. It salutes the extraordinary courage and strength of these military families and offers the general public a powerful glimpse into what they often must endure. The special will air on PBS on April 1, 2009 at 8PM (check local listings) in conjunction with April as the Month of the Military Child.

Sesame Street is a production of Sesame Workshop, a nonprofit educational organization which also produces Pinky Dinky Doo, The Electric Company, and other programs for children around the world.

    My childhood: ruined :(

I thought you were real :(

  • I was totally bummed by seeing Elmo's puppeteer. What does that say about me... I LOVE ELMO!

  • ELMO'S A PUPPET????!!! My childhood= ruined

  • that is sad

  • Dang it! I never wanted to see the puppeteer for Elmo! Elmo's real and interdependent of puppeteers! (sigh) This shall NOT ruin Elmo for me! LOL But on the serious side, this was a good special they had on Sesame Street. Kids should be able to see the reality that some families do get affected by such realities of life as war, but even more they are affected by going through the hard times of life together as a family. Family support is very important, and children need to see this more.

  • ha, john doesnt show his tattoos around kids :)

  • This is such refreshing great news after all the bad and depressing news that we get bombarded with on a daily basis. This totally made my day. I love John's voice and the beautiful lyrics in "Say".

  • They did.

  • Shut up yakomuto, you have no idea what you're talking about.

  • Who Elmo?
