A campaign designed to encourage small but necessary changes to reduce carbon emissions has been taken to the classroom for the first time. Mel Stride, the Conservative parliamentary candidate for the new constituency of Central Devon, recently wrote to more than 30 primary schools across the constituency in a bid to encourage them to participate in his One Tonne Green Challenge. On Tuesday, January 15th, the first of those schools Exminster Primary School welcomed Mel through its doors to give a presentation to its 43, Year 5 pupils on the importance of environmentalism and reducing carbon emissions within their day to day lives. This was followed by Buckfastleigh Primary School.
This is shameless indoctrination of children who have insufficient knowledge to judge, but who can parrot & go through the motions of whatever they figure grown ups want to hear & see. Grown ups in education, if they knew their job, should be banning such methods from their classrooms.
