Chanting crowds, Betty's Food + Wine + Pizza Go Go still open, 2.25am Wandsworth Road, Oct 22 2011.

It's 2.25am on Saturday morning at the junction of Wandsworth Road and North Street.

There is mayhem kicking off outside the late night bars Artesian Well, Los Society and The Plough while a crowd of 12 men are chanting up a storm outside Betty's Food + Wine which is still open, even though it only has a licence till 2am.

Next door at Pizza GoGo they are starting to shut up shop, having served people for half an hour after they were supposed to (their licence is only until 2am).

This is a residential area. Alll around the are - above the shops and next to the venues and in the surrounding streets live 100s of people who want these places to close a`t a reasonable time: 12midnight.

There is an Almshouse where single elderly people live 15 yards away.

These scenes - and wors e- fights, vomiting, urination, drug-dealingt - go on every minute past 12 midnight twice a week till 3.30-4.30am on Saturtday and Sunday morning.
