  • @mikejones3rfs I doubt Fenway will be torn down any time soon. They're gonna be letting more musical acts play there in the coming years. My buddy saw McCartney there and he said the acoustics in that place are amazing. As long as they can make money off it, it will stay. I was sorry to see Tiger Stadium go. I'm from Boston and I'm a huge Kiss fan. They started their reunion tour at Tiger, and I watch that concert often. When they tore down Tiger Stadium, they tore down a part of Kisstory!

  • I grew up going to " The Corner". Some of my best memories of Detroit have been in that Stadium. Senn some of the best the tigers had there. Kaline, Cash, McLain, Gibson , Trammell. And now it's gone. Detroit will never be the same to me.

  • Taking great comfort that the mayor who allowed it to come to this, Kwame "The Kingpin" Kilpatrick is spending the next 1 1/2 to 5 years in Jackson State Prison. The most corrupt piece of trash this city ever had.

  • @mikejones3rfs Me too. I was hoping to one day take my kids or grandkids to Navin Field (Tiger Stadium's original name) in the future, but the Powers That Be in Detroit sealed The Corner's doom. I would love to go to Fenway Park and Wrigley Field on their 100th birthdays!

  • @mikejones3rfs Actually, Detroit owned Tiger Stadium since 1977, and they own the site to this day. Kwame "The Kingpin" Kilpatrick and the Detroit City Council voted to demolish Tiger Stadium. Bud Selig had no say in the matter. What was really sick about how they handled The Corner was that there were plenty of proposals to reuse Tiger Stadium, and the City turned them all down flat. They even voted to demolish the rest in 2009 after money was raised to save it.

  • @imperialscot I thought it was sad the day the wrecking ball first slammed into Old Comiskey Park, and knew that eventually that day was coming for Tiger Stadium. At least Old Comiskey was put to good use, and perhaps someday, the old will be rebuilt. The site of Tiger Stadium has an uncertain future, though will most likely be another fine vacant lot filled with weeds and old tires. But then again, it might still be unused when the Tigers want to move back to The Corner!

  • White Sox fans had to deal with the same bull shit when they tore down Old COMISKEY Park and all they left was a replica of home plate with foul lines painted on the groud people drive on and park! Tiger Stadium, Comiskey, Yankee Stadium and even Ebetts Field all should have been SAVED!

  • all those empty building in detroit that have been up for years and years .. and they demolish this...

... its things that this that make me say Detroit Sucks...

  • Wrigley will never be torn down.

  • The thing only worse than the way MLB is today is if the MLB tears down Fenway Park and Wrigley Field and becomes like the chamless and full of shitty advirtisments like the shitty NFL. I hate Bud Selig he is a greedy bastard that took the Seattle Pilots and moved them to Milwalke and they greedy bastard that let Tiger Stadium get demolished. That asshole probably told players how to get steriods. Bud Selig should have saved Tiger Stadium.
