Pratts Litke places 6th in barrel racing at Colby college rodeo

College rodeo season began last weekend for the members of Pratt Community Colleges rodeo team, which competed at Colby Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Pratt had three contestants place in the long go rounds, and one also placed in the short go.
Cory Bullington, a freshman from North Platte, Neb., finished sixth in the saddle bronc riding long go, which included 30 contestants from both community colleges and four-year universities.
Kayla Dobbins tied for seventh in the long go of goat tying, which also had 30 entrants.
Desiree Litke completed the cloverleaf barrel pattern fast enough to take eighth out of 113 barrel racers in the long go. Litke went on to take sixth in the short go as she finished sixth in the average.
The next college rodeo for the Central Plains Region will be at Pratt Oct. 10-12 at the Huffman Rodeo Arena on the PCC campus.
