This is me, Zach Hurd, throwing from the start of the season till the end. I'm 16 years old. This season was my very first season throwing the javelin so I will warn you, it's awful at first. I had very good progress over the season, I started with a throw of about 120 feet and ended with my current PR of 170 feet. I had a pretty bad back injury through the whole season which didn't allow me to throw aggressive. This was over a time period of 3 or 4 months. I'm currently on a brutal lifting workout and I'm trying to get a D-1 scholarship. I placed 7th in the National Junior Olympics over the summer in Wichita, Kansas. My current coach is Chris Kirkpatrick of Vermont. Sorry for the water mark on the video, I didn't want to use Windows Movie Maker, that thing is god awful.

  • ahhh kirkpatrick! I've heard of him hes coaching another kid i looked at, u go up to vermont alot for him?

  • @danyboi29 No, but I am planning on visiting him over one of the two winter vacations. I went to Wichita for the Nationals with him. The kid you're thinking of is Seth Allen I bet. Seth was an age group above me.

I pretty much keep in touch with Chris via FB and calls, he gave me a rough lifting routine. lol

  • What guy from vermont?

  • @danyboi29 Check the info, your questions will probably be answered there

  • Whatd you throw in the last video with the white shirt? What meet was that, form improved so much throughout the year, still working with tommy p?

  • @danyboi29 It was the Regional Junior Olympics meet. That was about 2 weeks after I began working with tom, I threw 170' that meet. And no, I'm not working with Tom anymore. He was very helpful with throwing through the point, but the american style of throwing isn't suitable for my body. So now I'm working with a guy from Vermont. He throws about 250 himself, so he knows his stuff lol
