Actually, I wouldn't say that the sewers scene is an acceptance of imperfections, though it is related to the same theme. I would say the second toast in the sewers demonstrates Fox accepting his peers as his equals rather than audience to his own talents.

One of the major themes of this movie is Mr. Fox's need to prove himself as superior in both intellectual and physical prowess over his peers. He even says that he wants others to be "a little intimidated by [him.]" Whenever the phobia of wolves was previously mentioned, Fox would immediately change the subject. I believe that this scene is a representation of Fox accepting his own imperfections. Of course, this isn't the only scene that displays this message (the second version of the toast...

Calling them idiots is equally wrong in its rudeness and lack of necessity. If you really want to call them out on their ignorance, shouldn't you enlighten them of the supposedly obvious message? Of course, that's the problem here; the message isn't particularly obvious (at least, for a family movie). Most of these people were probably watching the film casually and wouldn't have noticed the symbolism.

Though, I do hate people touting that the scene is pointless.

It's actually a really deep, and powerful scene, when you think about it. Brother's in arms and all that. Two species, that are so different with a common enemy. Feeling philosophical today...

this part is the most unnecessary, most AWESOME part of the whole movie.

it is SOOO good. It just comes outta no where, but it fits this part of the movie so beautifully.
