An experimental collaboration of artists, light, and shadows. Illumination is created completely from still photographs and edited together with house music samples. All of the shadows and light shapes are created by dancers with various light sources and reflective surfaces. Still cameras with long shutter speeds (up to 20 seconds) are used to capture each frame. I then use simple edits in Adobe PhotoShop to make the kaleidescopic images. We intend to study this project, learn from it, and continue to pursue unique photo-video creations in the future.

  • High Resolution Version is coming soon! Every frame is a still photo from a digital SLR, converted to Kaleidoscopes in Adobe Photoshop. Most frames are multi-second exposures, allowing the dancers to move and paint with light tools. Also used are: moonlight, floodlights, spotlights, glow sticks, pools of water, and more. ~chris
