  • I love this piece,it was once a test piece for the Scottish championships.The contest was won by the band whos'e soprano hit the high note near the end most sweetly.Most sopranos cracked it.Thank you for making this track available.

  • @MrPatODonnell Yes, the soprano passage at the end seems to be so easy, but in fact, it;'s very tricky indeed.

  • My father conducted Fairey Aviation to win the National finals at the Royal Albert Hall in 1956.. A lovely descriptive test piece.

  • I was a B flat cornet player but knew that the soprano player could make or break a band.In this piece the soprano made the band!
