The episode features the Duggars' frugality in their purchasing. The Duggars do not use credit cards, only debit cards or cash. They purchase clothing from a thrift shop, groceries from Aldi, grow their own vegetables, use firewood (from trees on their property) to heat their home, and even have a recipe to make their own laundry detergent.

I do not own 17 Kids and Counting, I am simply a fan. Video belongs to rightful owner, no infringement intended.

Enjoy.

  • They have other friends they do things with, just most of those parents won't let their kids be filmed, so we don't see it on the show.

  • @ajames22young not even my partner. if they don't like how i choose to have MY hair, tough luck, it's my hair not theirs.

  • I love jill!

  • @Roo1920 Not even your husband. I do things that make my husband happy.

  • Those sisters get along so well! Better than me and my sister!

  • i'd never keep my hair a certain length because someone told me to. i'd do it coz i wanted to.

  • @SrKajollover i think it depends on the type of hair you have. for black people it makes out hair straight but on caucasian hair it makes it curley

  • You really can get great savings on all sorts of purchases when you know where to go. I'm not talking of a few pennies off. You can get as much as 90% saving here.

  • please correct me if i'm wrong but isn't a perm to make your hair staight, not curly??? this is the first time i hear of this :/

  • I think Jana has the best hair :)

  • i'm always always amused when people are so interested in poking holes in other people's lives. the world would be a better place if we could all adopt the view of "live and let live." these are good, godly, loving people and are role models in the midst of a broken, messed up and lost culture...
