Featuring farmers, families, and respected authorities and neo-pioneers in the movement, Locavore will educate, inspire, and create some food for thought. (Pun intended!) Locavore is available for purchase at Amazon and at locavoremovie.com.

  • Where can I get the full documentary?

  • @nycesltalk Send me a private message and I can send you a copy. They are $12 from me...or you can go to Amazon and type Locavore Movie to purchase.

    Thanks for your interest!

  • The Musician's name is Bill Powers. He has several groups, the most well known is called Sweet Sunny South. He wrote a couple really catchy original tunes for this film.

  • @stopthechem...My name is Jay Canode. I produced and directed Locavore. I can assure you there is no conspiracy behind this film. I live in rural western Colorado where the movie was created. The E.P. if you want to call her that, is an organic farmer that actually farms for a living. Her entire family works over 200 acres. They raise all their own feed for livestock, produce all their own fertilizer and its ALL organic. I have never seen a harder working family anywhere.

  • We made this film for under $10K dollars. Believe it or not the community I live in is one of the poorest in the state of Colorado, but they are also some of the healthiest. Our lifestyle revolves around food grown locally. We spend lots of energy making this happen but I can tell you its worth it.

  • Who is the musician in this video?

  • @wannabetrooper263 Not sure where you live. Here I can get a pound of local tomatoes for one dollar during the peak season. The difference in prices between supermarket food and local food is that you are paying the cost that it actually takes to grow the food, and pay those who grow it. The prices of food at the supermarket are buffered by cheap labor and government subsidies. Basically this means you are paying for the food in your taxes instead of at the checkout counter.

  • I am amazed by this movie. really. Im the FFA president at my school and im doing an SAE on Ag communicaions and getting people informed about agriculture. this movie has helped me a lot and given me some good ideas, in a way it has inspired me. thank you and I hope i can do what i can to make a difference in my community :)

  • Mr. Canode, I would love to purchase a copy of this film. My girlfriend and I strive to come as close to 100% local as possible. We understand that with our dietary issues (crohn's disease) it's not always easy, but it's worth it. I'm sorry stopthechem, your buddy Alex Jones is nothing is a paranoid schizophrenic who feeds off other schizophrenics, such as yourself. Here's an idea, maybe people want to do good just to do good. The NWO and Chem trails aren't real. Fluoride isn't mind control...
