A film about people, preconceptions and 1960s concrete.
Hi High Rise is the first short film by photographic partnership TAPE and is shot entirely on a digital SLR. It aims to challenge the preconceptions associated with tower block living and celebrate the successful community of Hornchurch Court, a high rise on the edge of Manchester City Centre.

  • Crivvens Jings Help ma boab!!! I used to live there at number 45 on the 9th floor, next door to Mr Mulroy, and opposite Mrs Pask and Billy & Ada with Mrs Powel in the bedsitter. All lovely Hulme folk who all made me feel welcome and Big George still there!! Course long back in Scotland now, but lovely to see a wee glimpse of the place again.

  • Great film. Its true about the bad name that 60's high rise buildings get, I live in a 20 floor high rise, and i LOVE it, wouldn't live anywhere else. Alot of people come to mind and ask me if all my kitchen units are Ikea....They are the original 60's units, very modern, all my furniture is Ikea and you wouldn't think from the outside that inside the flats could be mistaken for a Docklands penthouse. Great vid. Thanks for making me and 1000's of others proud!

  • Good to see the film getting some more screenings - i came to the launch event at Hornchurch Court - great to see it on YouTube !

  • Hi I particularly like this film because it reminds me of something.....xxx
