Love Allan Gardens in Toronto. In the downtown area, it has 5 greenhouses and dates back to 1910. The actual park was established in 1858.
The main conservatory is the Palm Hall and I like to sit right in the middle on a black wrought iron bench. On either side there are two large greenhouses and the one on the right has a wonderful pond with a fountain. Beside the pond, take the door to a smaller greenhouse with the cacti garden.
The greenhouse on the left has a wonderful waterwheel with a tiny cottage and "stream". Walk over the bridge to the end. You'll find a glass enclosure with tropical plants and you might be lucky enough to meet up with an artist or two sketching them.
Best displays, in my opinion, are the Christmas and the spring immediately following. But at any time, its a peaceful beautiful place to take a break.
They have enclosed yards outside for dogs to play and you can hear them having fun outside.
