Music: the main theme from the game borderlands"ain't no rest for the wicked" sung by the Cage the Elephant. I don't own any right for it. Here is official video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U631FGnXDXY&feature=fvst

  • 4 and 5 shots? thats why I dont carry that special armor...it doesnt seem to make that big of a diference except it weighs 90tons more then standard ferro so you have tons less armor overall and like no tonnage for firepowah......

  • @CMDRFandragon In Mp3.1 it takes 3 shots to kill full fero fibrous canis(with this config 2LBX 20) but it takes 5 if it has full reactive, so it is not so bad. But yeah more fire power is always nice :)

  • I think ur 1st shot missed Vanja - not sure though. I'll try it myself and get back to ya.

    Regards!

  • @scylaros I tested it more than once, maybe that shot isnt clear in the video, but it is a hit. Anyway good to hear of you Bro! :)

Also note that special armour works best with mechs 85 tons or less. Anything above that and you're gonna end up with precious little space for weps. An Atlas with full rea will live for ever but it wont kill much. Having said that its a boon in some case.

Also note that as of Mercs, mssiles are not ballistic (it was in Venge). So only defence against missiles is AMS really.

  • @CMDRFandragon Against its non specific wep type special armour operates as ferro. Thats why you should never armour the mech lighter than a ferro. I.e. if i got 48 points ferro on a Victor's arm I leave 48 points reactive or reflective. I find reflective the most useful of them two as it makes laserboats to be really weak against you. The panic supernova pilots feel when they see that you charging them head on is trully priceless. Refle Victor = BK toast.

  • @CMDRFandragon It treats reactive as it was ferro fibrous, so if you max the reactive, it will take damage from lasers as if it was maxed ferro fibrous. Anything less then full reactive will take more damage for the amount of armor missing to full. It is simple really. So there is no point in switching to reactive and then not adding tons to it, in that case all you get is reduced armor against beam weapons (lasers etc.) and normal armor against ballistics.

  • @scylaros so what happens in this game when a Reactive armored mech gets nailed by lasers? it treats it as normal armor hit? or what

  • @VpVanja

Yep, tried it myself. looks like its a 2x multiplier rather than 1.5x.

Made certain Victors of mine more viable once more lol.

  • @CMDRFandragon

Against same tonnages, a special armour mech will come on top everytime.

Trust me, I've been running rea Victors for 6 years now lol.

But... if ur in a Vic and running against a Daishi or something... get all the forepower you can and pray the other guy does not know his job lol.
