A general concept of warding a blade thrust off, from the inside,as we will not always be able to ward outside with the forearm in a picture perfect world.Folow thru to takedown, disarm and cut the opponent down.

  • @Brandon this is the bicep cutter versus a knife thrust.

  • Just one note: it's always better to inflict a stab wound rather than a cut wound, the Romans knew it and the principle hasn't changed. Other than that amazing disarm :)

  • Biomechanical cutting to disarm, disengage and deescalate is the law for a civilian. The onus is on a civilian to prove deadly force even in dire circumstances.Otherwise i must agree with you my friend, quick accurate stabs to vitals is preferable in a setting to cause mortal death,or permanent maiming

  • Thanks for the courage of stating that you may get cut. Something a lot of instructors fail to tell their students (to expect to get cut). To not do so is leaving out a vital part of training the mind for an incident like this.

  • Again as a Use of Force Trainer, i must consider the ramifications of Force.I aso do not thnk the principle of stab wounds is any easier to understand than cut/slash wounds;as proper length, and angle are the difference between death and incapacitation, and a reversal of the stabbing scenario on the stabber. Many cases i would be able to reference where a non trained person has repeatedly stabbed an inmate, and has had the tables turned on him,and suffered one cut to a major artery and dies
