I saw this movie for the first time yersterday, as a 16 year old I can tell you it still relates to teens nowadays. Such a great movie.

As much as I love this dance, I think it makes the film lose all credibility. It was thrown in literally just to sell it to execs. It was unneeded and tainted the film! I have my own edited version of the film which excludes the dance scene entirely, as well as a few unneeded moments. I think it makes the film stuck in the eighties, and forced itself to be forever-remembered as a "teen movie", even though it's a brilliant film about social status and breaking the chains.

Typical 80s dance moves...I love this movie. Also...people dressed better back then better than now where guys have pants halfway down there ass while the girls are dressing like complete sluts...I mean it's one thing to dress hot and classy, it's another to dress like a ho. Sorry if that offends anybody but that's the truth.

Molly was supposed to be the only one to dance in this scene, but she didn't feel comfortable doing it, for she didn't like the way she danced, so they made the whole cast do it. In the end, they all declared that Ally Sheedy was the best dancer.
