If you still have the receipt, just return it, Matt. Why waste your money or your time?

Apparently, The New York Times disagrees as Nora Roberts' books continue to be in the best-seller's list.

You do realize the list isn't compiled with the opinions of those at the New York Times, right? Also, we live in a country filled with people who have made McDonalds the number one restaurant in the land. Are you really shocked that Nora Roberts keeps hitting the best sellers list?

Any time you have to go back in a book and read something, the author loses? I've never read Nora Roberts and have no particular interest in or esteem for her, but by your standard she's not in bad company. Other loser authors, by the go-back-and-read-it litmus test: Joyce, Nabokov, Waugh, Milton, Chekhov.

I go back and read passages of Chekhov for the enjoyment of it. Not because I didn't have a clue about what he was trying to say. Therein lies the difference. And let's be honest, comparing Nora Roberts to Chekhov is like comparing a sling shot to nuclear weapons.

I like to read Nora Roberts when I have too much time on my hands and really don't want to think too deeply about what I'm reading. That's the way I tend to choke it down.

Honestly, if you're not looking to think deeply about what you read.....then Nora's your girl!
