@TheGodParticle (btw I'm not 'bro') Adam claimed he used sex to 'self-medicate' his depression...(!) I never knew the women included Nell until I read the book, though...
-
@OutrageousThings Cheers bro, yes i have read his autobiography but got a little lost at the amount of woman he had, lucky man.
-
@TheGodParticle It wasn't only Crabs: have you read Adam's autobiography?! Stephanie Gluckmann, his ex-wife 'Eve', Little Nell/Crabs ... (not to mention Adam's earlier stalker-ish overtures towards Jordan, as documented in the early Ants' song 'Send a Letter to Jordan').

@JustSomePerson888 At the time in the mid70s, the few times that I caught news featuring NYC, I noticed the subways filled with markings, you see, I grew up in San Francisco (there is no massive subway system here and nobody was writing graf of the magnitude or practice/custom as in NYC) so, really, all that was foreign or met with indifference or incomprehension by older kids (teens) or my peers if they even noticed it at all. In a way, without media, a revolution was happening.

@Khultan - i absolutely love that graffiti writing. and right, didn't realise what era/s you were meaning there.
-
@JustSomePerson888 Hmm, actually, I meant the response towards corruption and creative self-affirmation (city/state/national/internati
onal) by younger New York City people (most of those New York punk rockers were 21 years of age or above) by way of the NYC subway graffiti movement and it's other disparate elements, mc'ing, dj'ing, cypher rocking (more practical than punk rock, most poor kids can't afford to buy equipment and then learn to use it?) -
@Khultan - NYC had a total punk-type scene of its own, kinda came out of the Velvet Underground, then Stooges etc (i just checked that n Stooges are Michigan, but for me the punk USA scene original is sort of all blended in with one another - also it reminded me, Sex Pistols did a Stooges track too).
-
@JustSomePerson888 I can agree with that, apart from the California hippie and British punk rock movement, the children/youth of the late 60s New York City were busy in the early 70s responding to the devestation of local and governmental corruption that, perhaps, was more down to earth and galvanizing than any but having the spirit of the two.

@Khultan - i meant it failed because the current age group in charge of - the likes of what you mention - grew up in the 60s or later, meaning they should be fully aware that urbanising and corporate whoredome etc is wrong - but instead the majority of them continued to live wrongly and made the world even worse in many ways.
same way right now, majority of young are into lies that will make them nothing but know-nothing slaves in the future, passing it to their own children.
I thought this is a joke, but this really is a movie from 1977?!?
