Styx - The Grand Illusion - Live - Nov. 21, 2009

Styx live in concert in Kinder, La. on November 21, 2009. Filmed with a Canon SD780 in 720p HD. The Grand Illusion is my favorite Styx album. A friend and I spent the summer before our senior year in a cabin on a spring fed river in Louisiana. We would place the speakers on the porch facing the river and put The Grand Illusion 8 track in. We would float down the river to a sandbar about 100 yards from the cabin and could hear the music echoing through the trees. We never dreamed that Styx would one day play live just a few miles from the cabin in Kinder.

That's a nice little story...the things we'd do to listen to music outdoors! I saw Styx nearly 33 yrs ago at my first rock concert; they opened for the main act. They sound good here...need to see them again. I agree with you, I think Grand Illusion was their best album. I seem to think they had opened with this song back then. Don't know if you've see this, but it was one hell of an encore in 1981. Thx, nice video.
